Having the rim of the foot ground and polished would be the choice of many, however this fine glass would lose its integrity. It is the largest foot I have seen on an ale glass for many years. In the porcelain collectors world chips and restoration are not frowned upon. In the glass collecting world they are and this needs to change to obviate the blatant obfuscation that is seemingly endemic.
If you woud like this to be restored with a resin fill please do ask.
