An unusual oak open bookcase with carved central cupboard. Circa 1920s.

The central door is finely carved, depicting palm trees and an exotic bird. The uprights have fish scale chip carvings.

The bookcase is in very good condition and has been cleaned and waxed polished. There are a few light marks consistent with age.

Made in solid quarter sawn oak showing the lovely medullary ray, the bookcase has oak fronted pine stained shelves. The back is made of pine.

Sturdy in structure, the bookcase has no loose joints, and is free from any damage or woodworm. The top has two panels of oak. The centre had a slight gap which has been filled in.

The shelves have adjustments, the books are not included.
