The artist was Dr Paul Pfurtscheller (1955-1927) an Austrian zoologist, he produced a series of 39 zoological prints for use in higher education. This plate is number 18.
The off set lithographic technique of printing gives fantastic detail with sharp lines an great colours.
It was an extremely time consuming method of printing that is rarely use today, but the results are unbeatable.
This chart is a collectors item, you can find a few of them on other auction and antique sites where they fetch between £600-£2000
