About this item

This elegant sideboard was made by renowned Scottish cabinet makers H Marshall & Co in the 1930s, when the Art Deco style was at its peak of popularity. From a range known as "Talent", it features some lovely curves and handles, and offers lots of storage in a very compact package. The oak veneer shows two distinct colours, with the cupboard doors and top drawer being noticeably darker than the cabinet top, sides, lower drawer and legs - the piece remains symmetrical however, so we assume this was a deliberate element of the design.

The piece is in good vintage condition with tight joints, smooth running drawers and easy closing cupboard doors. There is a small piece of veneer missing from the bottom of the left hand door, but this is not nearly as noticeable as it appears in the photos.
