If you like to stay stylish even when you’re asleep, Vinterior’s range of Ercol beds could be the perfect addition to your home. Featuring headboards made from the famous spindled wood synonymous with the brand, they add a touch of mid century flair to any bedroom. All this while upholding the excellence in British design and manufacturing that Ercol is famous for. Whether you’re looking for single or twin beds, a double, or even a daybed, an Ercol bed could be perfect for you if you are a fan of mid-century style.

Why choose Ercol beds?

Vintage and antique furniture has history and interest as well as being beautiful and sturdy. The buttery soft touch of wood that has been used for decades is impossible to replicate in new pieces, whilst finding an item widely heralded as a design classic creates a fantastic talking point in the home.

Ercol beds are rarer than some of the other Ercol furniture we sell. They don’t come up as regularly as the classic Windsor chair, for example, so Vinterior, with its access to hundreds of dealers, is the perfect place to find one and the easiest place to buy one - at the touch of a button, no less. When you choose an Ercol bed at Vinterior, you do so safe in the knowledge that you are buying into the very finest tradition of British craftsmanship and quality. Ercol beds have been built to last, so when you invest in a heritage piece by this brand you can sleep easy.

How to style an Ercol bed

Ercol beds come in a variety of finishes, with wood ranging from dark to blonde. Because they are made from natural beech and elm, Ercol beds can be upcycled and painted in an extensive range of colours. If you need to make a statement, choose anything from bright primary shades to muted, pastel hues. If you’re looking for something simple, you can just as easily keep them in their original vintage state leaving the organic lines and knots of the wood exposed. Vintage wooden beds regularly feature a unique patina that is highly desirable and stands out amazingly against crisp white sheets.

These beds feature the individual elements that combine to make Ercol furniture a design classic – gentle curves, natural materials and premium comfort – meaning that they are the perfect finishing touch to a mid century or Scandinavian inspired bedroom. If you choose an Ercol double bed for your spare bedroom, your guests will marvel at the excellent support that it provides, but these are exceptionally designed items which are equally as at home in the master suite.

If your little ones need new bedroom furniture, why not opt for some Ercol twins? They are beautiful, understated pieces which look great with bright kids covers and some fun scattered cushions.

Search for your perfect Ercol bed on Vinterior today and you’ll soon see why, with its clean lines and gentle curves, this instantly recognisable style is a design classic that is revisited over and over again.

A bit about Ercol

The Ercol brand was the brainchild of Italian furniture designer Lucian Ercolani who moved to Britain as a child and set up his company after working for interior design powerhouses G Plan and Parker Knoll. After the Second World War, Ercolani was enlisted by the British Government’s Board of Trade to create production-friendly furniture with exemplary design credentials. As his prowess and reputation grew, the name Ercol became recognised as one of quality and style.
