A very special work of Folk Art in the form of a Japanese juban kimono under robe. This robe is skillfully made from scraps of fabric in handmade painted and embroidered silk from the 18th century, hand spun and woven cotton and flax from the 18th and 19th centuries. The robe itself is estimated to have been made in the late Edo period. A beautiful piece of Folk Art and history.
