About this item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning circa 1900 French or Italian Sterling silver Diamond & Enamel powder compact with lipstick.

There are multiple high definition super-sized pictures at the bottom of this page.

A very good looking and beautifully crafted piece, the diamonds are all real bar one replacement, We can have this changed to a real diamond for a small fee should the new owner wish, around £30.

The Enamel work is sublime, this is old master quality, the frame and internals are all sterling silver, We don’t recognise the silver marks, there is 925 for sterling of course, what looks like a backwards C crossing over a forwards G and We think and eagle which someone told us could be some kind of Imperial mark but We genuinely have no idea.

This piece is a real tour de force of style and sophistication, imagine removing this from your handbag, powdering your nose and applying lipstick, the envious glances would go around the room very quickly.

The piece has been lightly cleaned, its in good period condition, the mercury plate glass is original and lightly tarnished through age, only very lightly.

Weight:- 262 grams

Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask.

Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition.

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
