Why not take some time out to discover your perfect Ercol sofa? Browse our ever-changing and updating selection from across the decades and take a look at how clever contemporary designers are revitalising and renovating these beautiful pieces for the modern interior.
What to expect from a vintage Ercol sofaThe Ercol Studio Couch was one of the very first Ercol sofas to be designed and produced. An elegant, low-set three-seater with outward splayed spindle arms and a solid wood back, the piece is quintessentially Ercol. A classic design piece, vintage versions of this sofa have recently become a go-to quality ‘blank canvas’ on which people express their individual preferences for colour and pattern. Also sometimes known as a ‘daybed’ this sofa is informal and easy to incorporate into almost any living or sleeping space.
The Ercol Windsor SofaOne of the best-known Ercol ranges is the Windsor, and, true to form, the designer created a number of sofas in the Windsor style. Spindle backs, often in very blonde woods, those characteristic tapered and splayed legs and a webbed seat are the Windsor sofa’s defining features. Windsor sofas are available as two and three-seaters and they’re very versatile. The shape is classic enough to be ‘dressed down’ for a cosy living room, with comfortable, neutral colours and re-sanded natural wood.
Meanwhile, other renovators have revamped the Windsor for drama with colour, texture and pattern putting the piece firmly centre-stage in your space. Examples of all kinds can be found right here at Vinterior.
