A beautiful example of the iconic cast iron factory wall clock made in England by Gents of Leicester. c.1930
Salvaged from a factory in the north of England, this clock has a solid cast iron construction is much more heavy duty than usual for this size and steel bezel with glass lens. Dial features raised numerals. In a found condition, just cleaned and waxed to preserve. Original hands now fitted to a high torque Quartz movement for modern convenience.
Gents’ of Leicester, was established in Leicester, England, in 1872 by John Thomas Gent. For over a century, the company was a well-known manufacturer of electrical equipment, in particular, its electric clocks, which were used in public buildings and railway stations all over the world.
