Office Chairs

Charles Eames Office Chairs

When a designer uses his innovations in his office as a favourite task chair, you know you've hit the jackpot.

Executive spaces around the world have been gracefully complemented to boost creativity all day long with the presence of an Eames office chair.
Opting for a high or low back, either one, your desk craves leather upholstery, soft pads and the ultimate in comfort.

It comes as no surprise an Eames lounge chair was specially chosen to be designed for the lobby at the Time-Life Building in New York. Charles Eames, the father of chairs we all love and know so well today, has left a lasting impression that's difficult to crack by any other designer.

The Soft Pad Series and the original Alu Group ribbed chairs have remained in continuous production ever since their release in 1969, and there's good reason for it; ask any interior designer about them, an overwhelming number will convince you to invest in an Eames desk chair.

You might feel like a large chunk just became vacant in your wallet, but no price can compensate for ergonomics at its finest.

Responsible for some of the 20th century's most celebrated chairs, Eames furniture design is one to break the bank for.

More about Eames Office Chairs

Even Eames had a favourite task chair while at work. The Intermediate Chair is believed to be an earlier prototype of the Soft Pad Eames office chair, and it's an old-time favourite of Charles, who used it in his design office. The Eames leather office chair design was unusual and not like any other chairs, with a flattened, more horizontal layout. The model was called "Intermediate" due to its release between the Aluminum Eames Desk Chair and the Eames Executive Chair. A year after it was released in 1968, Herman Miller debuted the new line that would unwillingly kill it: The Eames Desk Chair Soft Pad. Since their first release, the Soft Pad Series and the original Alu Group ribbed chairs have continued production. Their classy, stylish design never grows old and remains a favourite to this day. The timeless story of Eames Office Chairs began in 1907 in St. Louis, Missouri. Charles was accepted to study architecture at Washington University. But, believe it or not, some say he was asked to leave so that the university could focus its attention on other modern designers such as Frank Lloyd Wright. Still, we prefer to stick with the dropped-out story, so he left the university to start his own architectural firm after two years. In 1936, he was offered a fellowship at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Michigan; collaborating with Eero Saarinen, his inspiration for his first chair project flourished, a shell chair that won first place in the Organic Design Competition. Dubbed the father of chairs we all love and know so well has left a lasting impression on us, that's difficult for other designers to beat; his famous chair lines and inspiring designs for every style of office gracefully completement executive spaces worldwide. It should come as no surprise that an Eames lounge chair was specially designed for the lobby at the Time-Life Building in New York. Their design philosophy continues to shape values, orientation, and company goals, to boost creativity all day long. Merging excellent support and comfort with unique designs, these iconic styles will effortlessly complement your workspace and bring you the finest in ergonomics.
