This is a good quality antique 16” mahogany kitchen wall clock, incorporating an Anglo Swiss mechanism, circa 1930, with a railway station design, has been lovingly restored to its former glory and is now in good working order.
This round dial wall clock houses a quality single brass barrel spring driven Anglo Swiss timepiece mechanism. The Anglo Swiss clock company was a prominent clock maker and jeweller in Calcutta, colonial India, during the early 20th Century. Established in 1909, they produced a large number of reliable and good quality timepieces, supplying both the domestic market and the British Empire. The home offices and factory of the company were at Quartier de I’lndustric, Soleure, Switzerland. (Source: Bengal and Assam, Behar and Orissa. This kitchen wall clock features a beautiful mahogany case, with a moulded brass bezel, a pendulum access door on the underside and a mechanism-viewing door on the left-hand side that allows you to view the mechanism whilst in operation. The mahogany case has been French polished by hand, to revive the wonderful colour and patination of the grain in the timber. On the back of the clock is a bracket to attach the clock to the wall.
The movement has been restored and serviced and is now in good mechanical order, ensuring this clock is reliable and keeps good time. The pendulum, which is attached to the mechanism by accessing the clock from the door below, can be adjusted in length to allow you to regulate the clock speed. The clock comes with a key, which is used to wind the mechanism through the centre of the face dial.
This clock face features the original ivory colour dial with black Roman numeral numbering and an elegant shaped hour and minute hand. A hinged solid brass bezel houses the glass face that protects the tin dial and face whilst in operation. The brass bezel opens on a right-hand hinge to allow you to adjust or set the time. There is a catch to the back of the clock that locks the brass bezel in place and stops it from accidentally swinging open.
This clock features brass levelling lugs and pins which are attached to each side of the clock and are designed to give the clock traction against the wall and allow the angle of the case to be adjusted away from the wall if the clock is hung on wall, which is not vertically straight, such as in old buildings.
This antique wall clock looks great in a variety of rooms, from the hallway, office or kitchen in either a traditional or contemporary setting. Nominal old use marks to the case and tin dial (specifically small chips near the winding hole) but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The mahogany case is in good condition. The mahogany case has been wax-polished the tin dial has been re-painted. The brass-hinged bezel is in good working order, with some play to the hinge. The bezel-locking latch is present and working and prevents the bezel from opening. The mechanism is original it has been cleaned and serviced and is in good working order, keeping good time. As we are confident that you will have no problems with the mechanism, we offer a 2-year UK warranty whereby if there were a mechanical problem with the clock, we would collect it free of charge from you, have it repaired and returned free of charge to you. We also offer a 14-day UK returns policy if you were not happy with it or wanted to return it for any reason. Please also note, this antique wall clock has the original mechanism it has not been replaced with a cheaper devaluing electrical battery-operated kit that you see on some clocks.

Free UK Delivery:
We offer free delivery to mainland England, Wales, and Southern Scotland (anywhere south of Stirling). We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. If you live in one of the areas where we do not offer free delivery, please contact us for a delivery quote before purchasing the item. Delivery will be made by our specialised antique furniture delivery service, or in some cases we will use a courier service for distant deliveries.
Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you by email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.
We will also provide you with our shippers' contact details, in case you need to contact the driver on the day of delivery. It's helpful if you can provide us with both the landline and mobile telephone number, in case the driver cannot reach you on one of the numbers on the day of delivery, they can contact you on your alternative number.
In order to be able to offer you free delivery, it is based on a 1-man delivery only. For any large items that require 2 people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with lifting the item.
UK 2-Year Warranty:
A 2-year warranty against mechanical failure is provided commencing from the date of delivery. This warranty does not cover accidental damage (i.e. dropping the clock). In the highly unlikely event there is mechanical failure, we will arrange to have the clock collected free of charge and returned to us for any repair that is required. Once the clock has been repaired, we will then return the clock to you free of charge. Most reasons for the clock stopping is due to the clock not being positioned correctly at the right angle on the wall. This can be easily corrected by re-positioning the angle of the clock to ensure that an even “tick-tock” noise can be heard from the pendulum. This warranty policy only applies to deliveries to the UK.
14-Day Free UK Returns & Refunds:
A 14-day free “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. We will collect the item free of charge from you (we do not charge a return fee / collection fee). You will be given a full refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. We will collect returns using our own specialist furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit). This refund policy only applies to deliveries to the UK.
UK Buyer Payment:
For UK buyers, we accept cash on collection or delivery cheque, credit card, BACS (free bank to bank transfer) or PayPal. Payment is requested within 5 days of the sale. Payment must be cleared before the items are collected or delivered.

1. Free cancellations
Changed your mind before dispatch?
You can cancel any order before it's shipped for a full refund, including delivery.
To cancel an order, click Create cancellation on the order page.
Once an item has been dispatched, delivery costs are not refundable.
Bespoke, personalised or made-to-order pieces cannot be cancelled.
2. Returning an item
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return.
There are two return types:
A. The item isn't as described (free return)
If your piece arrives and it doesn't match the listing in any material way (incorrect description, undisclosed damage, inaccurate measurements, misleading photos), you are fully protected:
- Free return
- The seller or Vinterior arranges pickup
- Full refund, including outbound delivery costs once the seller receives the item
This applies to all purchases.
B. You changed your mind
UK-to-UK furniture deliveries:
To make UK furniture returns predictable and stress-free, we offer a simple flat return fee of £75.
- Applies to furniture delivered from a UK mainland seller to a mainland UK address. Excludes Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Wight and Isles of Scilly.
- Pickup arranged for you

We coordinate the return with either the seller's chosen courier or our trusted delivery partner.
All other items
Most smaller items are straightforward to return.
You can still return your item within 14 days.
- For smaller or parcel-sized items, you can choose to post the item back yourself using a tracked service, or the seller can suggest a preferred courier.
- For larger or more fragile pieces, the seller may recommend the safest return method.
- Return delivery costs vary depending on size and courier.

3. If your item arrives damaged
Damage on arrival is uncommon, especially for UK furniture deliveries.
But if something does go wrong, you're fully protected.

- Share photos so we understand what happened
- We’ll help arrange a return and refund if needed

If the item is returned with new damage that wasn't present at delivery, the refund may be adjusted following review.
