Description
A stunning matched 1970s Brutalist teak furniture set comprising a floating tile top coffee table and matching drinks trolley both featuring the same bold architectural construction and extraordinary ceramic tiled surfaces. Together they create an exceptional statement set with unmistakable seventies character combining rich teak tones sculptural lines and vivid handcrafted tile work.
The most distinctive and unusual feature of both pieces is the remarkable floating top design. Rather than the tiled surfaces sitting directly onto the frames the entire upper sections appear visually suspended above the side structures with a deliberate recessed gap running all the way around the tops. This architectural separation creates a striking floating effect where the tiled surfaces seem almost detached from the supporting frames giving both pieces a lighter more sculptural appearance despite their substantial solid teak construction. On the coffee table this effect is even more dramatic because the underside of the top remains largely open with only two raised structural connection points where the cross stretchers meet the upper section. The trolley mirrors this same suspended design language beautifully with the tiled top hovering above the side supports creating a wonderfully cohesive matched set.
The frames are beautifully engineered with clean angular lines and exposed brass bolt fixings which become an important visual feature of the design adding an almost industrial edge to the otherwise warm natural materials. The teak throughout has a rich glowing tone with attractive grain visible across all surfaces including the lower shelf of the trolley.

The ceramic tiled surfaces are absolutely outstanding and instantly command attention. The tiles form a dramatic mirrored abstract pattern in glowing burnt orange amber caramel and deep chocolate tones with subtle olive green accents throughout. The design resembles radiating botanical forms or stylised seed heads spreading symmetrically across the surfaces creating movement and texture that changes beautifully as the light catches the glossy glaze. The depth of colour and richness within the tiles is particularly impressive giving both pieces a strong Brutalist and Danish modern feel simultaneously. The grout lines remain neat and clean and the tiles across both pieces are in excellent condition overall.
The coffee table has a wonderfully low sculptural profile while the trolley complements it perfectly with matching tiled surface lower storage shelf and original castors combining metal and dark plastic for easy movement and authentic period styling.
Construction quality throughout is excellent. The pieces are made almost entirely from solid teak with only the underside shelf section on the trolley using teak veneer. Both pieces remain very solid and sturdy with only light age related wear consistent with careful vintage use.

1. Free cancellations
Changed your mind before dispatch?
You can cancel any order before it's shipped for a full refund, including delivery.
To cancel an order, click Create cancellation on the order page.
Once an item has been dispatched, delivery costs are not refundable.
Bespoke, personalised or made-to-order pieces cannot be cancelled.
2. Returning an item
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return.
There are two return types:
A. The item isn't as described (free return)
If your piece arrives and it doesn't match the listing in any material way (incorrect description, undisclosed damage, inaccurate measurements, misleading photos), you are fully protected:
- Free return
- The seller or Vinterior arranges pickup
- Full refund, including outbound delivery costs once the seller receives the item
This applies to all purchases.
B. You changed your mind
UK-to-UK furniture deliveries:
To make UK furniture returns predictable and stress-free, we offer a simple flat return fee of £75.
- Applies to furniture delivered from a UK mainland seller to a mainland UK address. Excludes Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Wight and Isles of Scilly.

Most smaller items are straightforward to return.

- For larger or more fragile pieces, the seller may recommend the safest return method.

3. If your item arrives damaged
Damage on arrival is uncommon, especially for UK furniture deliveries.
But if something does go wrong, you're fully protected.
