Sheraton 18th century mahogany tripod Table
This George III Sheraton 18th-century mahogany tripod table is an exceptional example of Georgian furniture and a fine piece of antique English furniture. Crafted with exquisite attention to detail, this Sheraton-style tilt-top table features a combination of mahogany and satinwood inlay, highlighting the craftsmanship that was characteristic of the 18th-century period. With its elegant design and quality materials, this table is not just a functional piece of furniture but also a timeless investment for antique furniture collectors and interior decorators alike.
Key Features:
Authentic 18th-Century Sheraton Design
This Sheraton tripod table is a classic representation of George III furniture design, showcasing the refinement and elegance of the late 18th century. The table’s tilt-top feature allows for versatility, making it a practical yet stylish addition to any period-inspired interior.
Satinwood Inlaid Border and Carved Details
The circular top of the table is beautifully inlaid with satinwood, offering a striking contrast against the rich tones of the mahogany. The satinwood inlaid border not only adds a touch of luxury but also serves as an example of the intricate detailing that Sheraton is famous for. The central column is turned with a carved twisted design, adding to the visual appeal and craftsmanship of the piece.
Tripod-Splayed Supports with Harebell Inlays
The table stands on tripod-splayed supports, which provide stability and a classic silhouette. These supports are further enhanced by harebell inlaid motifs, which add a delicate, floral touch to the design, emphasizing the geometric and floral patterns often seen in Sheraton furniture of this era.
Mahogany Construction
This Sheraton-style tripod table is made from solid mahogany, a wood renowned for its durability and rich, deep colour. Over the years, mahogany develops a lustrous patina, making this table a wonderful heirloom piece that will only improve with age.
Versatile Antique Piece for Various Settings
The tilt-top design allows for easy storage, making it ideal for both large and smaller rooms. Whether displayed in a classic Georgian living room, a period-inspired dining room, or a contemporary home office, this 18th-century mahogany tripod table adds both functional surface area and historical elegance.
Condition and Restoration
This vintage Sheraton tripod table is in excellent condition, with all elements intact and well-preserved. The table has been carefully restored to maintain its original charm, and its mahogany and satinwood inlay are as stunning as when first crafted. The carving and inlays showcase the skilled craftsmanship of the period, making it an ideal addition to any collection of 18th-century antiques.
Why Choose This 18th Century Sheraton Tripod Table?
Timeless Investment: As a piece of 18th-century antique furniture, this Sheraton mahogany table is a valuable investment for collectors.
