Description
A statement lounge chair that’s low, laidback and masculine, it originates from 1970’s Denmark, designed by Ebbe Gehl and Søren Nissen for renowned maker, Jeki Mobler Bramming. The chunky, tubular, modernist frame in stained solid beech looks grand with the deep chocolate brown leather that’s so dark it looks black at first glance. And comfort is as important as the good looks here. From the tilt (which can be adjusted) to the contoured suede back to the plump cushions to the generous proportions, this is an indulgent seat for someone who takes relaxing seriously. And this chair is in cracking condition – just light signs of wear and tear adding to its vintage appeal in our view.

Condition report:
This original, vintage chair is ‘sold as seen’. It is in good – very good, used condition. We have given the chair a thorough clean, applying a natural beeswax polish to the wooden frame and nourishing leather cleaner and balm to the cushion. It is comprised of a single, three-part sectioned cushion, held in place with Velcro at the top, although it’s worth noting the cushion rests in place with no fixings. The cushion is in very good order. The leather is soft, supple with securely attached buttons, working zips and plump inners. The leather arm rest slings are in very good order too. There are minor wrinkles and surface marks here and there on the leather which you can see in our photos but this is very much part of aged leather’s appeal. The suede back panel is in very good order. There is some wear to the finishing fabric underneath the seat cushion where the side seams have opened up a little, as we’ve shown. This doesn’t show of course as it’s concealed by both the cushion and the stretchers on the sides of the chair. You could opt to glue or sewn. There is also a faint, small tide mark as shown and some age spots on the canvas underneath the chair. Nothing unsavoury but age-related marks we nevertheless want to be transparent about. There is a working mechanism that raises the tilt of the chair. There are two positions. The dark stained wooden frame is solid and stable with just minor scuffs and marks to the finish – again, please refer to our photos. There is no maker’s label but this is very fine quality, well-documented chair that we attribute with confidence to Jeki Mobler, designed by Ebbe Gehl and Soren Nissen, and made in the seventies. We can arrange fast delivery with experienced delivery partners who cover most of the UK mainland that we have worked with for many years. We have a weekly collection of sold pieces, usually every Thursday, and onward delivery to our customers follows 1-5 days after this, depending on the delivery address. They are reliable and insured but their service does require a little flexibility as they work to set routes. They will confirm a date when they are next in your area and able to deliver. They will then update you directly via text with delivery updates and timings.

Smaller items, such as lamps, are sent via DPD to UK mainland locations and the price is quoted in the description for this service. Tracking information is provided and this is a Mon-Fri delivery service.

1. Free cancellations
Changed your mind before dispatch?
You can cancel any order before it's shipped for a full refund, including delivery.
To cancel an order, click Create cancellation on the order page.
Once an item has been dispatched, delivery costs are not refundable.
Bespoke, personalised or made-to-order pieces cannot be cancelled.
2. Returning an item
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return.
There are two return types:
A. The item isn't as described (free return)
If your piece arrives and it doesn't match the listing in any material way (incorrect description, undisclosed damage, inaccurate measurements, misleading photos), you are fully protected:
- Free return
- The seller or Vinterior arranges pickup
- Full refund, including outbound delivery costs once the seller receives the item
This applies to all purchases.
B. You changed your mind
UK-to-UK furniture deliveries:
To make UK furniture returns predictable and stress-free, we offer a simple flat return fee of £75.
- Applies to furniture delivered from a UK mainland seller to a mainland UK address. Excludes Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Wight and Isles of Scilly.
- Pickup arranged for you
- One clear fee, no surprises
We coordinate the return with either the seller's chosen courier or our trusted delivery partner.
All other items
Most smaller items are straightforward to return.
You can still return your item within 14 days.
- For smaller or parcel-sized items, you can choose to post the item back yourself using a tracked service, or the seller can suggest a preferred courier.
- For larger or more fragile pieces, the seller may recommend the safest return method.
- Return delivery costs vary depending on size and courier.
The seller will confirm the best option based on the item.
3. If your item arrives damaged
Damage on arrival is uncommon, especially for UK furniture deliveries.
But if something does go wrong, you're fully protected.
- Let us know as soon as possible (ideally within 72 hours of delivery) so we can resolve things quickly
- Share photos so we understand what happened
- We’ll help arrange a return and refund if needed
You’re always protected when something goes wrong in transit.

4. What can't be returned

Returns are completed smoothly once the pickup is arranged.
7. Refunds
Once the seller receives the piece back in the same condition it was sent, we'll issue your refund to your original payment method.
Once a refund is issued, it may take up to 5–10 working days for the funds to appear back on your original payment method, depending on your bank or card provider.
If the item is returned with new damage that wasn't present at delivery, the refund may be adjusted following review.
