Description:
This is a fine quality antique harlequin set of 12 French kitchen chairs, in the Louis XV style, made from solid oak, with a ladder-back design, featuring drop-in rush seats, circa 1920, in good original condition. The chairs feature a shaped top rail with a shell carved cartouche and two further shaped rails below, in the form of a ladder-back design within the shaped upright supports; the chairs feature “drop-in” rush seats, all of which are in good condition. The shaped seat frame incorporates a shell carved motif apron. The seats are raised on fine cabriole legs to the front (which terminate on curled toecaps), with straight legs to the rear, all of which are united by elegantly turned stretchers for added strength and stability. The 12 French kitchen chairs are heavy in weight, which is a good sign of fine quality and it means they are also sturdy.
The twelve oak chairs boast a warm, golden oak colour. They boast a lovely colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.
The six kitchen chairs would look superb in a variety of rooms, especially the kitchen or dining room. They would certainly grace any home in either a contemporary or traditional setting; they are a great investment, as they are an extremely functional item. This is a fine quality antique harlequin set of 12 French kitchen chairs, in the Louis XV style, made from solid oak, with a ladder-back design, featuring drop-in rush seats, circa 1920, in good original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair frames have been glued and the oak has been cleaned and French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop. Therefore, the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The chairs incorporate drop-in rush woven seats, which show signs of age and wear (some surface fraying) but are perfectly functional and in-keeping with the age of the chairs; they are solid in joint and are of good quality. The twelve oak chairs are solid in joint, they do not wobble and are ready to use.

We offer free delivery to mainland England, Wales, and Southern Scotland (anywhere south of Stirling). *We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland; for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location; we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit; therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you by email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.
We will also provide you with our shippers' contact details, in case you need to contact the driver on the day of delivery. It's helpful if you can provide us with both the landline and mobile telephone number, in case the driver cannot reach you on one of the numbers on the day of delivery, they can contact you on your alternative number.
In order to be able to offer you free delivery, it is based on a 1-man delivery only. For any large items that require 2 people to lift the item, we ask that you are available at the time of delivery to be able to give our shipper a lift off the van and into your house with the item. If you are not able to lift items yourself, we ask that you have someone on hand at the time of delivery to assist our shipper with lifting the item.
Free 14 Days UK Returns & Refunds:
A free 14-day “no quibble” returns policy (from the date you receive the item) is available if you are not happy with this item. We will collect the item free of charge from you (we do not charge a return fee / collection fee). You will be given a full refund as long as the item is returned in the same condition. We will collect returns using our own specialist furniture delivery company. We will not accept returns via a courier service (due to experience of damaged items in transit). This refund policy only applies to deliveries to the UK.
UK Buyer Payment:
For UK buyers, we accept cash on collection or delivery; cheque, credit card, BACS (free bank to bank transfer) or PayPal. Payment is requested within 5 days of the sale. Payment must be cleared before the items are collected or delivered.

1. Free cancellations
Changed your mind before dispatch?
You can cancel any order before it's shipped for a full refund, including delivery.
To cancel an order, click Create cancellation on the order page.
Once an item has been dispatched, delivery costs are not refundable.
Bespoke, personalised or made-to-order pieces cannot be cancelled.
2. Returning an item
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return.
There are two return types:
A. The item isn't as described (free return)
If your piece arrives and it doesn't match the listing in any material way (incorrect description, undisclosed damage, inaccurate measurements, misleading photos), you are fully protected:
- Free return
- The seller or Vinterior arranges pickup
- Full refund, including outbound delivery costs once the seller receives the item
This applies to all purchases.
B. You changed your mind
UK-to-UK furniture deliveries:
To make UK furniture returns predictable and stress-free, we offer a simple flat return fee of £75.
- Applies to furniture delivered from a UK mainland seller to a mainland UK address. Excludes Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Wight and Isles of Scilly.

We coordinate the return with either the seller's chosen courier or our trusted delivery partner.
All other items
Most smaller items are straightforward to return.
You can still return your item within 14 days.
- For smaller or parcel-sized items, you can choose to post the item back yourself using a tracked service, or the seller can suggest a preferred courier.
- For larger or more fragile pieces, the seller may recommend the safest return method.
- Return delivery costs vary depending on size and courier.

3. If your item arrives damaged
Damage on arrival is uncommon, especially for UK furniture deliveries.
But if something does go wrong, you're fully protected.

- We’ll help arrange a return and refund if needed

7. Refunds
Once the seller receives the piece back in the same condition it was sent, we'll issue your refund to your original payment method.
Once a refund is issued, it may take up to 5–10 working days for the funds to appear back on your original payment method, depending on your bank or card provider.
If the item is returned with new damage that wasn't present at delivery, the refund may be adjusted following review.
