Wassily armchair, designed by Marcel Breuer and manufactured by Gavina, Italy in the 1960s, original year of design 1925. Gavina produced the Wassily chair under licence between 1962 and 1968, then Knoll purchased the Gavina company and took over production. Chrome metal frame and original canvas arms, back rest and seat.
In good vintage condition. There is some marks and wear to the chrome. The original beige canvas has been overpainted in orange paint, they look rather wonderful. This has been done some time ago (probably in the 70s) and is very reminiscent of the period the chairs were produced. There is patination and paint loss to the canvas on the chairs, this has created a very attractive and unique pair of Wassily chairs in orange.
There is some loss to the stitching on the arms, this is purely decorative and does not affect the chair.
2 identical chairs are available, price is per chair
