Description
A fabulous, very large Victorian witches ball circa late 1800’s. The circumference of the ball is a massive 97 cms making it a rare and hard to come by item.
The hand blown mercury glass complete with it’s minor imperfections sends off wonderful reflections. The ball retains it’s original brass hanging hook.
These heavy spherical balls were hand blown & silvered. The plug where the silver was poured in is visible on the ball.
Witches balls as they are known have been associated with a number of superstitions but mainly it is believed that they were hung in windows to ward off evil spirits.
Due to the fragility of this item it will be delivered by a trusted van courier. Price for delivery £60 within mainland UK…. Except for Scotland please ask for a quote.
