Why are Jersey pottery table lamps sought after?
In 1946, Jersey Pottery was founded by brothers Charles and Edward Potter. They saw a gap in the market, as decorative ware production was banned in the UK. This law didn’t apply to Jersey. The 1960s saw a huge focus on hand-painted designs. This meant each pottery table lamp produced was truly one-of-a-kind and had a real provenance. Nowadays the achingly retro Mexican-inspired Pedro range - including table lamps and vases - adorns the homes of millennials across the country as they seek out affordable mid-century home decor pieces.
