Get the look: a luxurious 1970s home with unconventional vintage finds
Looking at the image above it is hard to imagine that the entire room was put together on a dime. With a great love for eclectic, colourful expressions and a bit of luck, a vintage reseller Jenasie Earl and her family built their personal haven brimming with period pieces.
Jenasie believes that having a beautifully decorated home is not a luxury, but a necessity. She claims that the things we surround ourselves with daily have a tremendous impact on the way we feel, so creating an inspiring environment for ourselves and our families to thrive should never be postponed or seen as a drag.
With her mid-century meets Victorian 1970s home, she shows the remarkable power of vintage and explains that by choosing secondhand you don’t have to spend a fortune to be able to afford an uplifting space. A carefully curated collection of antique and vintage finds can be built on a very tight budget while at the same time producing a jaw-dropping result.
Jenasie describes her home as Eclectic, Vintage, colourful Victorian with a touch of Boho. Being drawn to the global look, she enjoys having lots of plants scattered across the space and finds great pleasure in shifting and changing both the layout and furniture.
But the excitement of the search and that feeling of thrill when you lay your hands on a good deal is what drives her forward to continually discover new and exciting vintage furniture and art.
Inspired by the sophisticated combo of gilt frames and blue velvet sofa, we’ve put together a Get the look style board featuring the pieces you can find at Vinterior.
The mirror with a gilded wood frame sets the tone for the elegant wall gallery, while all the texture and rich colours create an inviting, luxurious sitting space below. A colourful antique rug introduces attractive contrast making the entire room feel well-heeled and intriguing.
A cherry on top comes in the form of the globe chandelier, while the lavish Monstera plant soothes the space by introducing a touch of Nature.
An eye-candy, isn’t it?
