Remarkable Homes: Thérèse shows us around her Clerkenwell Mews Home
We had the pleasure of visiting Thérèse in her lovely light filled home in the historical Clerkenwell area of London. Full of mid century jewel tones and a cacophony of plants, Thérèse’s open plan home is interestingly divided by varying levels. The dining space is elevated by a small open staircase above the living room which is a clever way to segregate different areas of an open plan home without having to build a wall between them. Enjoy this wander around and keep an eye out for 20th century design classics dotted throughout Thérèse’s home!
Hi Thérèse, who lives here with you?
My partner Martin, our daughter Rose and myself.

No, I’m French. I moved to London nine years ago after spending some time in Paris and Oslo.
What’s your favourite thing about being in London?
The diversity of people, cultures and neighbourhoods.

The weather, the long commute to go anywhere. This city can be quite stressful at times.

Colourful, eclectic, practical.
What were the inspirations for the decoration in your home?
Scandinavian minimalism and African vibes.

My childhood comforter, Timon, who is 19 years old. And probably a mini Diptyque candle, “Baies” scent, to recreate my home scent everywhere I go.
What kind of furniture are you drawn to?
Comfortable but feminine furniture.
Which designers or artists inspire you in your daily life?
Yves Klein and Frida Kahlo.

I look for functional and timeless pieces.

Our super king size bed in our bedroom.

A Les Arcs chair by Charlotte Perriand, found on Le Bon Coin in France. My uncle had to go collect it in Grenoble for me.
Favourite places to eat/shop/meet friends etc in London?
Who would you make into your fierce female squad of dreams?
Michelle Obama, Beyonce, Eva Chen and Emily Weiss. A nice mix of talents and skills: politics, music, fashion, beauty.
