When we recently asked what was your favourite look, you went for the Boho Leafy Living Room. However, it was a very tight call as this beautifully balanced Mid Century Modern dining room lost by just a couple of votes. After receiving so much love, we felt it was only natural to feature this room too and help you recreate the look in your own home.

This stunning dining room was designed by Studio McGee as part of their project Modern Lake House. The restrained colour palette of warm neutrals (bright whites, mixed woods, brass finishes and a gentle touch of tan) used in this space is a prime example that texture is not the only way to make a minimalist space feel warm and cosy.

The super clean and modern look is achieved through smart use of natural textures, an antique oriental pattern, modern statements and a touch of greenery.
The vintage rug acts as an anchor of the whole dining area, while its subtle, yet busy pattern provides interest to the otherwise pared down look. The textural basket hosts a large plant that’s bringing life into the room and makes the rug feel less lonely by developing the pattern story even further.
The streamlined furniture design displays classic Mid Century Modern aesthetic and marries practicality with immense comfort.
The contemporary tonal art piece contributes to the airiness of the entire space and provides the perfect backdrop for the sculptural statement chandelier to shine. And oh how it shines! The star of the show, the chandelier steals the limelight and packs a fabulous finishing touch to this timeless space.
