We're suckers for old dead animals in glass cases, especially those you have zero chance of actually getting to hold in the wild. It's a chance to really get up close to an animal and study it's shape and form. This is probably why they were so popular in schools, libraries and museums back in the day.

Here we have a lovely presented and aptly named, Long-Eared Owl perched proudly onto of a small branch. Almost camouflaged with its dried grass background these birds are famous for their secrecy and are rarely seen in the wild, which makes this piece all the more special.

Beautifully preserved and presented by I. Day Bird Stuffer & Picture Frame Maker, 44 Church Street, Gainsborough. This shop is unfortunately now a thing of the past, as is possibly Mr. Day himself, but one things for certain, he was obviously a very talented man.

Known to migrate South in the winter for warmer climates, we suggest snapping him up quick before he’s gone!

In general good condition for its age the case features various marks, chips, and some paint splashes. Measures approximately 35.5cm wide, 15cm deep and 42cm tall, 44.2cm including the hanging loop.
