The iconic Antelope chair was the result of Ernest Race's commission to produce public seating for the 1951 Festival Of Britain. Its simple steel rod and bent ply construction was a response to materials shortages in post-war Britain, while its playful design reflects both classic Victorian styling and the futuristic molecular and atomic imagery of the Festival itself. Race's creation went on to win a Silver Medal at the 1954 Milan Triennale.

This lovely example was a genuine barn find, and has been refurbished using a new seat and fixings supplied by Race Furniture.
