Minimalist slate and steel side table or small coffee table designed by Floris Fiedeldij for Artimeta Soest, Holland in the 1960s. A dark slate top sits atop a black steel frame. The table is in excellent vintage condition.

Artimeta also produced a wide range of modernist lamps and was well known for producing metal furniture. Mathieu Matégot also designed for the Dutch company and Floris Fiedeldij clearly drew strong inspiration from that collaboration. For those interested in slate work, Paul Kingma and Pia Manu are other designers to check out from the period.
