This is an antique, Edwardian stick stand dating to c1910.

Beautifully hand crafted in English oak with an aged patina and a dark, waxed finish,

this stick stand carries the label of the renowned Dursley firm of R.A. Lister & Co.

The splayed legs rise and encompass a barrel base pan with a pair of brass bands secured with studs. A removable drip tray sits snugly within with a pair of folding lifting loops attached. Inside the label reads "R.A. Lister & Co Ltd, Makers, Dursley,England"

The circular top is beautifully turned and joined to the legs with a triangular stretcher half way down. The colour throughout is warm in deep chocolate browns offset by the antique brass strapping.

A super country piece with solid joints, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.

Top Diameter: 31cm (12.25'')

About R.A. Lister & Co Ltd
Formed in 1867 by Robert Ashton Lister to make a range of agricultural machinery, the firm is noted to have been involved in a broad range of equipment manufacture until around the turn of the century when they branched out into shearing and milking machines, milk churns and barrels.

Off-cuts of wood from these endeavours were used to create all manner of products from vases and tubs to garden seats and stick stands which in turn became a profitable sideline.
