This is a superb antique English Victorian salon suite which dates from around 1860 and comprises a sofa with the matching pair of arm chairs.

This suite was made from masterly crafted hand carved solid walnut. Each piece has a decorative carved floral crest on the back, and it has been reupholstered in a sumptuous dark emerald green  leather with button backs. They stand on their original brass and porcelain castors and are in truly excellent condition ready to grace your home. There is no mistaking the beautiful and stylish design, which is certain to make the suite a treasured addition to one of the rooms in your home.

In excellent condition having been beautifully restored and reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.

The Walnut woods are probably the most recognisable and popular of all the exotic woods, having been used in furniture making for many centuries. Walnut veneer was highly priced and the cost would reflect the 'fanciness' of the veneer - the more decorative, then the more expensive and desirable.

These chairs are upholstered in top quality Scottish cow hide which has been hand dyed and antiqued.  Because they are hand dyed we can finish the leather to any colour requested, and the beautiful antique patina is achieved by the  special walnut based stains that we use in the process.

The studding is achieved with close individual  studs not by using strips, and each nail is individually hammered in by hand.
