Fabulous painted door from Tibet, depicting a tiger. I believe this to be from around the 1950s.
The door is extraordinarily heavy...almost certainly teak wood with the pole hinge and iron bracket still attached to one end. There are two chunky iron hanging rings on the back.

The background is black therefore the tiger really stands out well. The paintwork is a little chippy and distressed here and there... but that merely adds to its beauty. It's a fabulously dramatic piece that will look stunning on the wall in a contemporary or modern room...fab for a restaurant or bar maybe.
