Danish cabinet maker Aksel Bender Madsen learnt his trade at the Furniture School at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, graduating in 1940. Thereafter he worked with the famous architects Kaare Klint and Arne Jacobsen until 1943.

This beautiful chair marked his work for Dutch company Bovenkamp. Oak frame and teak armrests that steam-bend into a signature curved back. Comfortable and supportive, reupholstered in Designers Guild Cheviot felt, with Kvadrat Hallingdal wool cushion.
