Good quality lighting is never just about how the light itself looks. As the Danes most famously expressed in their idea of hygge, good lighting requires great design with the right quality of light to get that elusive cosy hyggelig feeling. Perhaps the greatest Modern exponent of this was Poul Henningsen with his PH-lamps (such as the PH5 lamp with its flying saucer look), but others such as Scandinavian firm Le Klint's pleated lampshades (like the Pendant 101) and the more industrial looking lamps from Anglepoise (such as the Type 75) have successfully combined functionality with great looks.
