Pair of glass wall mounted lamps from the 1950s.

Both the mounting metal fixture and the glass shade are marked « Holophane ».
Some paints and stains especially on the mounting plates which are not visible once mounted.
B22 lampholders (either brass or plastic depending on the models).

In 1893, André Blondel invented the prismatic glass cast. The invention is patented under the name “Holophane” which in Greek means “harmonious distribution of light”.
