About this item

A rare to find 1950s mid century triangular decorative plate designed by Yvette Manoy, a ceramist from Namur, a city and municipality in Wallonia, Belgium. Signed on the underside - Y Manoy.

The plate is of a rustic abstract design with an African tribal motif typical of a lot of her work. Yvette Manoy, decorates pieces of earthenware, by isolating the different enamel colors with paraffin. This process was used a lot in Vallauris by Roger Capron who uses this technique for the realization of very colorful tiles, with geometric or animal decorations. In very good vintage condition.
