About this item

This is a wonderfully rare tinplate model of the Citroen HY Van, manufactured by French company JRD, dating from the 1950s. This particular model is embellished with the logo of Antar a petroleum company that ran for just 49 years before being merged with larger petrol companies in the 1970s. JRD produced a wonderfully detailed replica of the H van, with opening drivers door, sliding side door and opening rear doors. It also features small light bulbs in the headlights wired to a battery holder underneath and number plate transfers front and rear. The truck is in good condition with slight surface corrosion that makes it an even more accurate replica of the Citroen Truck. Original key to wind the clockwork motor is included, although the mechanics are still present, the spring has lost some of it’s ‘springiness’ and now struggles to move the truck. This aside it’s a lovely model, the transfer embellishments are bright, detailed and add make a uncommon model rarer still.
The truck is 34cm long, 16cm wide and 17.5cm high.
