About this item

Gorgeous, mid-century pitcher was made by renowned French ceramist, Jacques Blin (1920-1995), circa 1950's and purchased from
a private collection.

This unique, rare piece, reflects Blin's unique and inimitable style of etching or carving exotic birds, primitive animals, abstract objects,
shapes and scenes of daily life, into raw clay, before applying his signature misty, cloudy glaze.

It has beautiful, rich, blue hues mixed with charcoal and carved images of exotic birds and trees, just above the base.
The pitcher which can also double as a vase, is signed 'J Blin' under the base.

Its height is 20.4 cm and measures 9.5 cm in diameter without the handle.
With the handle, it measures 14 cm.

A timeless, collectible, hand-made piece in excellent, original condition, from one of the more iconic, French ceramicists of the 20th century,
that will compliment any given mid-century, rustic contemporary or traditional decor.
