Steel engraving by C. G. Lewis after a painting by Sir Edward Landseer ca 1850.

"The graceful bloodhound here represented was given to the late Countess
of Blessington by the then King of Naples.

This picture was painted at the
request of the dog's mistress, whose friend he was, her mansion in
Kensington being open to many who had distinguished themselves
in the higher walks of literature and art."
