About this item

This is a stunning late 19th century antique French burr walnut card table with ormolu mounts, circa 1860 in date.

The burr walnut top has kingwood crossbanding encompassing exquisite floral marquetry on an ebonised ground.

It has two beautifully decorated hand painted Sevres porcelain plaques which feature birds set in elegant ormolu mounts.

The hinged top opens to reveal a green baize lined interior for playing cards. As you swivel the top into position a compartment for storing your cards, pens and paper is revealed.

It stands on elegant cabriole legs with gilded ormolu mounts that terminate in ormolu sabots.

It is a superb piece which is sure to get lots of attention wherever it is placed.
