About this item

Gaston Poisson style, dining table, mahogany, France, 1930s.

Majestic centre table in oak. This Art Deco table shows great craftsmanship. The base and legs are beautifully detailed with carving and woodwork. The rectangular top is plain, which nicely exposes the grain of the oak. This table has a sturdy appearance and is more robust than most Art Deco items. Designers Charles Dudouyt and Gaston Poisson are masters in this style. This design combines the more feminine and refined Art Deco style with graphical patterns and masculine elements.
