About this item

Stunning George III (1760-1801) Mahogany Linen Press. It has been converted from a linen press to a wardrobe, with the advantage of being able to hang longer items, such as coats and long dresses. The drawers are dummy drawers. If preferred, we could fit shelves at cost (£20 per shelf), and the bottom could be used to store bed linen. We have a working key to the wardrobe doors. This press has been hand painted in Annie Sloan 'Paris Grey', then it has been distressed and rubbed with dark wax and buffed. These layers of wax give a lovely aged finish and greater durability.

In good antique condition. Please expect some dents, marks and scuffs due to its age. Some signs of historic woodworm, that have been treated as a precaution. No structural faults, this is a solid, well built piece and there is nothing that doesn't sit right with the character and age of this elegant linen press. The pictures are a true reflection of the item. We take great pride in restoring our antique furniture, so you can buy in the confidence you will get a great piece to last for generations. Looks absolutely amazing.
