About this item

Very fine quality set of French late c19th freestanding shelves made in solid mahogany.
Beautifully carved with the fretwork rails, fine turned columns and the shaped shelves.
There are four shelves in total and in a waterfall effect, tapering from the top to the wider and deeper base.
There are some minor losses to some of the tops of the small finials. Not very noticeable so I have left them as they are.
The shelves have cleaned and polished up nicely and whilst doing so, noticed that the feet and also the under finials of each shelf are in fact brass, so these could be fully polished up if you wished.
Very decorative set of shelves, great for displaying collectibles or perhaps a fine set of crystal glasses.
If you are to free stand this, I would be tempted to have a simple fixing into the wall behind for stability and peace of mind!
