About this item

Sensational baroque secrétaire/ tabernacle made in Austria, circa 1770. Fine kind of wood like nut wood, walnut and cherry were used to set up a very unique design. The lower section, a fantastic curved commode contains three big drawers. The superimposed upper part shows a fall front writing surface hiding four small drawers and two compartments. Additional two small drawers can be found on the outsides. The upper section impresses with seven drawers and center door that houses a storage room divided in two compartments. Inside this you will also find the two bolts which lock all drawers on each side with only one move. Beautiful brass fittings finalize the gorgeous look of this nearly 250 year old masterpiece. Please note: this Baroque Secretaire has been costly restored about 20 years ago and now shows some signs of time like fine cracks in some parts of the veneer or some minor fading. But overall it is in a real good condition! Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading.
