About this item

Small solid mahogany chest of drawers, forming Scriban by a flap with inclined pan. The latter rests horizontally on two retractable drawbars automatically at the closing of this space and vice versa. This flap reveals a Tabernacle consisting of various storage spaces: six niches with various dimensions and high cross fretwork, a lockable door, and four small drawers of identical capacity with brass pull buttons. The work area is covered with Khaki / Brown leather with a central Vignette and fine gold borders.
This piece of furniture also has three drawers of increasing depth in the lower part, each with two brass pull handles. Their facades are highlighted by festoonages forming frames, decorations that are also found on the flap. Each of these openings is provided with a lock and its original key.
Note the presence of a discreet wand bordering the bottom of this Scribanne Commode.
The set rests on four straight feet.
The interior of the furniture and the sides of the drawers are mahogany.
