We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning and exceptionally rare Serpentine fronted 19th-century walnut chest of drawers commode with marble after Thomas Chippendale
A very good looking well made and decorative chest. The front is serpentine and heavily curved, the top solid marble which has been cut to follow the contours of the drawers. The handles are bronze and depict winged cherub puttis in the middle with cameos either side. The legs are extremely ornate, very much after designs by the great Thomas Chippendale. These drawers are basically the finest quality I have ever seen
The top drawer has a removable baize lined compartment divider, it can be used for cutlery in a dining setting or perhaps small items of clothing in a bedroom setting
In terms of the condition, there is nothing negative to note, it looks simply amazing from any angle

Please also ask any questions before you buy and not after, all of our items are sold as seen and as listed
Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand-dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
