About this item

Lovely Art Nouveau buffet cabinet out of Austria made by cabinetmaker Ph. Krabina in Vienna, circa 1910. The lower part comes with a slightly convex shape providing two doors, a drawer as well as a hidden extractable writing pad. The upper part floats on four beautiful polished brass columns and still shows the original facet cut mirror glass in the back. Two smaller compartments appear behind the lovely worked facet cut glass-panelled doors that can be wide opened. An absolute great highlight are the fine inlay works with fruitwood and mother of pearl in the doors and also on the around the corners of the upper part. The original marble plate is still there by showing a crack that has already been repaired during an older restoration process. A hammered brass strip around the bottom edge completes the gorgeous look this antique buffet. For sure a matchless piece from the world-famous Art Nouveau period. The original mirror glass in the back shows scratches and aging spots. *The original marble plate shows a crack that has been fixed in an older restoration process. Wear consistent with age and use.
