About this item

A superb antique double filing cabinet in Oak, dating from the early 20th Century (c. 1920-30). This is an amazing cabinet in original condition throughout. The quality of manufacture and timber are reflected in the weight. The cabinet weighs around 40kg. It has all 18 original pull out drawers/ trays, all with through dovetail joints. It was made for Cooke’s (Finsubury) Ltd who were based in the City of London (Finsbury Pavement), the Legal Centre of London (Walbrook, EC4, close to the Old Bailey) and SW1 close to Westminster. This reflects the quality of the original manufacturer and where their target Client base was aimed at. All round excellent provenance.

We rarely see these cabinets in such excellent original condition. A beautiful colour, size, and design. Both doors run freely making this a very practical piece that can be used on a daily basis.

A very nice example of an English roller door cabinet that offers beautiful styling with lots of storage capabilities. We do have three of these cabinets available. A very rare find indeed!
