About this item

An extremely rare pair of George III carved and painted settees in the French Hepplewhite taste.

The French Hepplewhite taste is known for its smooth free flowing lines and has a petite modern elegance.

The moulded cresting rail continues down to open scrolling carved arms, seamlessly flowing to serpentine front. Raised on fluted tapering and ringed legs.

The settees are fresh to market acquired from a fantastic private collection where they adorned the master bedroom of a Georgian Manor.

Provenance: Private collection since circa 1970 when they were purchased to furnish the master bedroom of a Georgian manor.

Remarkably the chairs retain the original painted finish and are in exceptional condition. Minor loses and wear consistent with age. Uhpolstery is of later date. Price Per Set.
