About this item

Very sophisticated Rocking Chair designed and made by the Czech company TON in the 1960s. This factory was opened in 1861 as a bent furniture plant and today it is among the oldest in the world. It was no coincidence that its founder Michael Thonet, whose name the plant bore in the beginning, chose this place. Surrounded by beech forests offering enough material for the manufacturing process. In 1953 the company was renamed as TON (the abbreviation standing for Továrna Ohýbaného Nábytku – bent furniture factory). The chair is marked and made of Beechwood and has the original upholstery. In my opinion the upholstery needs to be cleaned or can be renewed (by us on request). The chair is in good condition with normal signs of use and aging. Very elegant and stylish design with nice graphical performance.
Good — This vintage item remains fully functional, but it shows sign of age through scuffs, dings, faded finishes, minimal upholstery defects, or visible repairs.
Standard — Between 40kg and 80kg
