About this item

Rare pair of lounge chairs produced for Olof Perssons Fatoljindustri (OPE) in Jonkoping, Sweden by Danish master designer Ib Kofod-Larsen. Aniline Black leather cushion covers and highly figured Brazilian rosewood frames. Price per set. Danish master Ib Kofod-Larsen gained popularity in his native Denmark in the 1950s via his work with Christen & Larsen and Slagelse Mobelvaerk amongst others. His work became increasingly sought-after during the later 1950s and 1960s, as he was commissioned by Olof Perssons to produced a collection of furniture specifically for the ailing domestic Swedish market. This highly successful range included the 'Salen' (Seal), 'Samso' and 'Kandidaten' (Candidate) lounge chairs. These examples have been carefully restored at our London workshops.
