About this item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning pair of circa 1780 Chippendale era Burr Fruitwood chairs
These chairs are sublime, the timber is good enough to eat, it has various burrs and spores, it has hundreds of years of ware which give the wood a patination which is irreplaceable. If you like furniture which is subtle yet sublime then look no further, these are exquisite examples
We have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished them from top to bottom. They have been fully worm treated the timber three times from top to bottom, the frames have been checked and secured where needed, they have Edwardian repairs to the underside in the form of corner mounts to strength the frame. There are various old cracks and splits, slight changing in form of the timber and so on, the chairs are perfectly solid and useable, its nothing you wouldn’t expect from 240 year old chairs!
Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition
Please also ask any questions before you bid and not after, all of our items are sold as seen and as listed
Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade
