About this item

Designed in 1944 by Danish architect Philip Arctander the "Muslingestolen" or Clam chair was first produced by Nordisk Staal & Mobel Central, Denmark. This later version was produced under license by Vik & Blindheim, Norway in the 1950s and is slightly larger than the Danish productions. The solid beech legs and arms have been dark stained and the seat reupholstered in New Zealand off-white sheepskin. A rare and iconic design rarely available.
