About this item

A truly magnificent piece, the upholstery is just about a classic English country house as you will find anywhere, it screams style class and charm, everyone knows this fabric and everyone knows it from Liberty London

As mentioned the frame is walnut, there is a nice sideways facing Lions head carved into the top back, the front legs are beautifully turned and very much of the period

The concept for this furnishing fabric was created by well known French Art Nouveau designer, R. Beauclair, in approximately 1900. The Ianthe design was redrawn by David Haward's Studio and is a timeless and a true reflection of Liberty’s heritage. Ianthe is Greek for purple or violet flowers, suggesting that the flowers in the design may have originally been drawn from violet

Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask

Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
