About this item

A pair of Afromosia African teak 'Kandidaten', lounge chairs produced by Olof Perssons Fatoljindustri (O.P.E.) in Jonkoping, Sweden circa 1960. The new cushions are covered in Svensson wool fabric. Price is per set.

Danish master Ib Kofod-Larsen gained popularity in his native Denmark in the 1950s via his work with Christen & Larsen and Slagelse Mobelvaerk amongst others. His work became increasingly sought-after during the later 1950s and 1960s, as he was commissioned by Olof Perssons to produced a collection of furniture specifically for the ailing domestic Swedish market. This highly successful range included the 'Salen' (Seal), 'Samso' and 'Kandidaten' (Candidate) lounge chairs.

These examples have been carefully restored at our London workshops. The new foam cushions have been covered in Kvadrat Hallingdal pale wool fabric.

Other upholstery options available by request. Also available as single chairs.
